Host Taylor Weech interviews Ahmed Gaya, one of the organizers of Break Free PNW actions this week in Anacortes, WA in and around the March Point refineries about the action where thousands are expected to converge and engage in a variety of protest as part of the global Break Free from Fossil Fuels wave of action.
In the second half of the show, she interviews Abby Brockway and Patrick Mazza, two of the Delta 5, so named for their civil disobedience direct action which blocked a mile-long oil train at the Delta yard in Everett, WA in 2014. They discuss their reasons for action, their roots in activism, and the legal precedent that their case is setting for other resisters in the climate change movement.
